One of the most celebrated occasions that everyone is works so hard to prepare for is a wedding party.
This very special day for the loved up couple and their family and friends is one which you will treasure forever, which is why it is so important to make sure that you are completely organised and on the ball with your plans.
Finding the right type of function room for your wedding can be a challenge which is why you should have a checklist to hand to ensure that you dont forget anything. The last thing you want is not enough tables for your guests or the photographer hasnt arrived because he doesnt know the party venue.
The most important part (apart from the wedding dress and the vows!) is the function room. It is vital that you choose one that specifically suits your needs and requirements. Wedding venues are booked very far in advance so its important to get started with your search right away, to ensure that you find the best function room for your special day.
First of all you need to ensure that the function room you choose caters for all your guests. Ask yourself the following questions:
Can the function room cater for all of my guests? If I ask for tables and chairs, will this massively reduce the amount of room?
Can I bring my own catering or do I have to use the party venues facilities? If I can bring my own is there a kitchen?
Is there a private bar or will I have to share it with others in the venue?
Do they have disabled access inside the function room as well as disabled toilets?
What time does the bar close?
Do they cater for 18th and 21st birthdays?
Are children allowed inside the party venue?
Do they have the media equipment that you require? E.g. microphone, disco lights, projector.
Can I bring my own DJ or will I have to use the resident DJ?
Is there a cost or/and deposit for the room?
Is there car parking available and can cars be left overnight?
Is the function room close to hotels for my guests or does the function room have a hotel attached as well?
You may have many more questions to ask the party venue owner, these are simply a guideline for you to follow.
Its also a good idea to make sure that they allow you to decorate the venue if you wish to bring along your own balloons and banners. Most venues are fine with this; however its important to ask first saving yourself the hassle of either buying all the accessories, or booking the venue in the first place.
