The importance of improving your memory is hard to overemphasize. It means you will no longer be embarrassed after forgetting the name of a person you have met before, you will do better at work and/or at school, you will be more fluent in your speech since you will memorize quotes, texts, speeches and scriptures as written, you will never forget a security code or a password, your mind will be young and alert, you will never misplace your belongings, you will learn foreign languages with ease, and you will absorb new information like a sponge.

There are several ways to increase memory. These options improve any or several of the following: sense of direction, memory for numbers and facts, visual memory, memory for abstract patterns, memory for faces, spatial memory and memory for names. The most effective methods of increasing memory are natural methods. This is because a natural method to increase memory will have lasting effects, it will not have side effects and it is cost effective. You could learn these natural methods to increase memory in online or offline tutorials, but most are straightforward.

One of the best natural methods to increase memory is dieting. The diet should be rich in vitamin B12 as well as other nutrients that are necessary for a healthy brain and a healthy body. Physical health is directly connected to mental health because an unhealthy body will not deliver the necessary oxygen and nutrients to the brain and an unhealthy body means you will be uncomfortable and you will not have the energy or the focus to learn new things. You should therefore eat foods that maintain your general health to increase memory. You should eat fresh fruits and veggies and foods rich in fiber. You should avoid too much salt, too much white sugar, saturated fats, and processed foods. The most effective foods that increase memory are berries such as blackberries, raspberries and blueberries with antioxidants, green leafy vegetables which also have antioxidants and which contain chlorophyll that binds itself to toxins, red meat which is high in vitamin B12, and dairy products and eggs which are also rich in vitamin B12. If your diet is not rich in nutrients that are necessary for a healthy brain such as Omega-3 fatty acids and Omega-6 fatty acids, you could always go for natural supplements. You could also go for natural multi-vitamins. You should cut back on drinking and tobacco smoke as a way to increase memory.

Exercising also improves your health and consequently it helps to increase memory, especially cardiovascular exercises. This is because exercising increases metabolism and it boosts the serotonin levels in the brain. Another of the natural methods to increase memory is getting sufficient sleep. Sleep enables your mind to ‘reboot’ and to save everything it has seen or heard in the course of the day. You should also avoid stress at all costs to increase memory. This is because stress produces cortisol and excess cortisol hormone levels contribute to memory loss. When you are depressed, you do not have the focus to notice what is around you since you think internally.
