Ballistic armour plates are used to upgrade normal body armor to protect against high velocity rifle fire as well as hand gun protection, as normal soft body armour cannot protect against rifles. It is used mainly by military and advanced police personnel like SWAT teams who are likely to come up against enemy soldiers with advanced equipment and weaponry. With technological advances, these plates can now even protect against armor piercing rounds.

These ballistic plates are manufactured up to NIJ III and NIJ IV level. Ballistic plates made out of PE, which requires to be used in combination with a NIJ IIIA level vest, or PE/Ceramic composite and PE/Silicon Carbide which can be used on a stand alone basis, are also supplied by Sinoarmor. The NIJ III PE plate from Sinoarmor weighs a mere 1.7kg, very low compared to competitors’ products.

Made out of lightweight materials, these ballistic plates can be easily placed into front and back pockets on the body armour. Sinoarmor makes available this product in two models - Ballistic Insert DC3-3 and Ballistic Inserts DC3-7. These two models have distinct features. Ballistic Insert DC3-3 is made out of PE material and provides up to protection level NIJ III. Its dimensions are 25x30cm, it weighs merely 1.7kg and is only 22mm thick.

Comparing this with the other ballistic plate model, the Ballistic Insert DC3-7 is made with PE/SiC material. This reaches the protection level NIJ IV. Weighing just 2.5 kg, its dimensions are 25x30cm. Despite the higher protection level, this is also only 22mm thick.
