Maintaining your greenhouse and keeping it clean will not only keep your garden looking attractive but also provide a healthier atmosphere for your plants. Arranging an annual cleanout will enable you to ensure that your greenhouse is kept in good condition.

During the cleaning process, you will need to pay attention to the glass panes of your greenhouse. Broken or dirty panes could reduce the amount of sunlight that your greenhouse plants have access to, so it is important that you clean them thoroughly and replace any that are cracked. A simple glass cleaning solution and a sponge will enable you to easily remove any dirt or dust from your greenhouse panes.

When doing a regular cleanout, you will need to move all your plants out of your greenhouse. Be sure to leave a clear space so that you can clean the whole of your greenhouse thoroughly. Any debris must be removed and any dead plants or leaves should be thrown out. Any shelving or seed trays will also need to be cleaned.

If you find that you are having problems with pests, then search for areas where they may be hiding during your cleanout. Rather than using insect repellents, you may wish to opt for organic pest removal methods instead, as this will provide a much healthier atmosphere for your plants. Place down sticky traps or use blasts of water to get to areas where pests may be hiding. Alternatively, you can use organic pest sprays to tackle the problem.

In addition to cleaning your greenhouse thoroughly, you will also need to take a number of steps to ensure that it is kept looking at its best. If you have a wood greenhouse, then you may need to give your greenhouse a re-paint. Cheaper wood will require much more maintenance. For a longer-lasting, good quality greenhouse, cedar wood is the best choice. This type of wood not only ages well but also looks great and will keep your garden looking attractive.
