The license came into effect with the release of Sugar Community Edition, version 5.0, which was scheduled in the late summer of 2007. By this license, the users of Sugar CRM were able to redistribute the technology of Sugar CRM and the license also provided the critics to inspect and modify the products of Sugar CRM. Recently on 11th April, 2010, Sugar CRM announced the launch of the new version of Sugar Community Edition, Version 6.0, which has got the license from GNU Affero General Public License Version 3, and this version is widely known for its strict laws.
