Digital signage is one of the fastest growing advertising and marketing mediums. Being highly effective at promoting brands and products out of home, digital signage displays now account for an eighth of all outdoor adverts, and the industry is still growing; however, with high start up costs outdoor digital signage can mean a heady investment, which is why many people are turning to outdoor TV enclosures as a budget solution.
Outdoor digital signage can be far more effective at raising brand awareness than an indoor campaign, due to the larger audiences that get to view the outdoor screen. For this reason, outdoors is fast catching up with the prevalence of indoor displays with more and more outdoor screens being erected all the time.
Outdoor can be more expensive, however, than indoor campaigns, primarily because of the high cost of protecting the screen. Outdoor displays are now increasingly being manufactured by the big name TV companies; however, they come with a very high price.
Furthermore, outdoor screens will still need to be enclosed in some form of protection, even if they are waterproof as outdoor screens are often left unsupervised and in vulnerable locations.
Outdoor TV enclosures are a common solution for using screens outdoors, whether for outdoor digital signage, an external information screen, or an outdoor TV in a pub, bar or other leisure location.
The great advantage of using an outdoor TV enclosure is that any standard type of device can be deployed in them and kept protected from the elements, saving a fortune in having to invest in an outdoor screen.
Outdoor TV enclosures provide all the necessary protection to allow these standard devices to be taken outdoors. Not only are they waterproof, preventing rainfall and other weather elements from getting inside the enclosure and getting at the TV.
Protection is afforded not just against rain, but also snow, sleet, hail and even windblown dust, which can be just as damaging as moisture if it is allowed to get at the device.
Temperature too can be a debilitating factor for an outdoor screen. If the ambient temperature rises too high then the screen can overheat causing failure, while TVs can also fail, if temperature drops below zero-and both extremes of temperature can be reached during the different seasons in so many locations, which means that both extreme of temperature needs to be protected against.
Outdoor TV enclosures contain such climatic systems which are often thermostatically controlled, turning on when the temperature requires it. This allows standard screens to be used all year round inside the enclosure making them just as effective in the sub-zero temperatures in the winter, as they are at keeping screens cool in the summer.

Sun protection is also often installed in outdoor TV enclosures as direct sunlight can cause all sorts of problems, from increasing the likelihood of over-heating, to burning permanent marks on the screen.
Air-curtains-, anti-glare glass and using high brightness TVs inside the outdoor TV enclosure are the most common solutions to guard against the sun-although by far the best outdoor sun defense comes in ensuring the screen is mounted facing away from direct sunlight.
Most outdoor TV enclosures are also manufactured from steel and are physically secured against attempts at theft and vandalism. Shatterproof screens protect the face while the steel enclosure means even the most severe of impacts will not damage the screen.
Outdoor TV enclosures are a comprehensive method of protecting standard displays, LCD and plasma screens, and is cost-effective providing protection and security for a fraction of the price of specific outdoor screen.
